Is this something you actually plan on building? Or just gathering informations?
Personally, if it was a survival situation and I was going to be there for a while, I think I would do something underground.
First, it will be a lot easier for you to dig a hole than it would be to chop down a lot of trees, notch em, move them where you want them, then STACK them. If you were alone, unless you had some pretty good equipment that you could use to fashion a pully and rig, I don't think building a log cabin would be a realistic plan.
Dig your hole, put up support poles, lash longer poles to the supprorts by rolling them over the hole (no lifting necessary) then set up your roof and enjoy.
