Maybe the folding handle ones are better or not? I don't know but I thought
to get this one as it look sturdy and it will hold up to the abuse. It is plenty
small enough to go into a normal sized to small sized back pack.
I had a thought to make substantial improvement, it needs a place to baton
the shovel so to split wood. I guess to weld a small round nickel size piece
of steel on the side of the shovel section right at the rear corner. This should
do the trick, may do this mod in the future.
I have not used it, want to check it out to see how well it functions as
a wood chopper and cuter and so on.
