I have both propane and duel fuel Coleman stoves. I didn't like dealing with the propane bottles. They are cylindrical (odd shape to pack), large, and they don't work worth a crap in the cold. Also the valves on the tanks some times stick open.
I like the duel fuel stove. It is a lot more compact than the propane one, it works well in the cold (after it pre-heats), and the fuel is a lot cheaper and more abundant.
Gasoline is the most available fuel in the world. Even in the concrete jungle gasoline is available. I have a piston pump with a long hose on it, that I have considered using if SHTF to obtain fuel if all other methods fail.
I would like to get a wood burning stove, I just have to start saving.
