Default Gun Belt

This may be only loosely related to survival, but I`ve heard it said, that there are gun belts made for concealed carry of a handgun. They`re more rigid I guess than a regular belt, so they support the weight of the gun and holster better.

Anyone know about this, and where to look for them?

Default Gun Belt

I have carried 24/7 for over 10 years now and I have never heard of such a thing. That being said, I will have to look for such an item. You have my curiosity peeked right now. If I find anything like that I will post it here for you.
I have several different holsters for different handguns but I have never ran across or heard of a belt like the one you are describing. Just give me a little time to check this out. O.K.

Sure.

Comp-tac probably makes one of the best with its Kydex re-enforced belts. Galco and many other holster makers also make gun belts.
They are thicker and designed not to lose shape, sag, or get cracks (the usual problem that occurs in most box-store “heavy belts” under everyday carry use). And they help keep the weapon tight to your profile.

Belts with Kydex-reinforcement are always your best choice.

If $$ is an issue, then just get a thick solid (no web belts please) leather belt at least 1.25 in wide from Wally World. Won't last as long, but much cheaper.

Google "gun belt" and get a gadzillion hits.

look at the "wilderness instructor belt". you can specify the "rigidness" you want,it will never stretch, and compared to a good quality leather gunbelt,it's a steal.

Exactly where I was going, the five stitch is so rigid I a 200 pound man can barely bend it. The also make a 3 stitch belt, I have both of each and prefer the 3 stitch, simply because it is more forgiving. I use my 5 stitch belts for IDPA matches. - Wilderness Tactical Products, LLC I use them daily and would recommend them for anyone.

As long as a man has a good belt, and not one of those sissy dress belts, he will be fine.

I wear a Bianchi gunfighter belt I have worn since the 8th grade.

If your belt is butch enough to handle the weight of your holsters, gun, and spare magazines you will be fine. I actually have a custom made western gun slinger belt (it was more for looks really) I didnt know what it was and had been wearing it for some time before I got my carry permit. But it works well because its made of sturdy leather.

I wear a riggers belt every day.SPEC.-OPS.® RIGGER'S BELT - Brigade Quartermasters If you have not seen one here is a link It is plenty stiff for supporting 1911 and double mags. One of the guys I work with wears what looks like a wimpy dress belt but on the gun side of it it has a carbon fiber stiffener sewn into it to support the extra weight of a handgun.
