Just curious, what would all of you and the whole world do if you found out the whole Global warming this was a absolute scam. A complete lie and all carbon taxes etc were taken from the people for nothing. And he fact that the 190 billion dollars spent on perpetuating a lie a myth. Just wondering how you'd feel then. I mean where irefutable scientific proof from the same scientists that supported it all along are now saying and showing 100% facts thts its all bullshit. Just a question? Because if it would affect you in some way like you'd have to shut down your safe the ozone campaign headquarters and the rally planned for next month. Move on as usual. There is a lot more that we have no clue about that is absolute scams so to worry about 1 we cannot change is to waste yours and mine time on this earth. Exactly how they want it. The government is to big now for a reason and to get into it as an honest citizen is suicide and a short political career. Unfortunately this is how it is and we are not strong enough as a people to over throw it and they know that. Smell the roses warvet because its right there for you.

"Scam" is a loaded word. It implies intentional deceit. Of course, the jury is still out (the proof always rests in 20/20 hindsight); BUT, I highly doubt the legitimate members of the scientific community, doing legitimate peer-reviewed research, are intentionally deceiving or duping the global public.

What they are doing is interpreting data, and drawing conclusions about that data, based on their best theories, historical patterns. and personal experience.

The data are the data...the facts are the facts. It's the interpretations of those facts and data, and the use of these interpretations to forecast the future, that are more prone to error and fluctuation.

Some of the interpretations may be wrong, and some of the future forecasts may be in error; but, those errors do not mean, therefore, that everything is peachy and rosey with the atmosphere and the environment.

As with all issues like this, there are extremist "chicken littles" (The sky is falling! The sky is falling) on one side of the issue; and there are extremist, ignorant naysayers on the other side of the issue. Unfortunately for the folks at both of these extremes (Al Gore and Rush Limbaugh, for example), neither of them are likely to be any more correct than the other...the truth usually lies somewhere in between.

With all that said, IMHO the whole "global warming" or "climate change" issue is partly irrelevant, anyway. We are currently facing so many other short-term, potential crises that we are likely to experience a SHTF event long before the so-called "global warming" has a chance to cause real trouble for all of us, anyway.

1) Petroleum resources are finite in supply and yet worldwide demand continues to grow. This means that, eventually, we will run out of oil.

2) At this time, the USA is ABSOLUTELY dependent of the importation of foreign oil. So long as we depend on foreign oil, there will continue to be war in and around oil producing countries.

3) Petro-based fuel cost will continue to trend upward.

4) The cost of electricity will continue to trend upward.

5) Etc., etc., etc... Our economy and our lifestyle are not sustainable.

Arguing about "global warming" can easily become a red herring distraction. Preparedness is likely to be necessary, one way or the other.

I would have to take it, as I had to take "multiculturalism is great for Australia".

Luckily anti - Global Warming activities have some good in them, as when using alternative energies will make fossil fuels to last longer.

Federal Labor MP Kelvin Thomson has criticised Australia's existing immigration laws, calling for the slashing of migrant numbers and more rigorous background checks on prospective residents.
Speaking to a group of Year 12 students in Melbourne on Friday, the Member for Wills said spiralling numbers of migrants were compromising Australia's security.
"Given time, it would be possible to get to the bottom of the background of applicants from Somalia and elsewhere and work out whether they have any association with fundamentalist groups and make a rational assessment of whether they pose a risk," he said.
"Reducing our rates of immigration intake to the rates prevailing back in the 1990s would provide authorities with much more time in which to assess applications, and thereby improve Australia's security."
He pointed to this week's arrests of terror suspects and the conduct of the men at court.
"My own view about this is that there needs to be more vetting of both prospective migrants and temporary residents, including students, to minimise the risk that people who do not respect Australia's laws and legal system will enter this country," Mr Thomson said.
"And someone who refuses to stand up when asked by a judge and says 'I stand only before God' does not respect Australia's laws or legal system."

the scam is that we are in denial about it and clinging to any excuse for it not to be so just so we can carry on as usual. its cheer lunacy to think that 6 billion poeple are not having and undue effect on the climate when even the stuff that just the romans were up to has been monitored in the ice cores at the poles.

there are a lot of what ifs and extra things like forest fires and volcanos that kick out more co2 than we do which begs the case that al the californian burning wont be doing arnies green policies much good. we are definately not helping though with digging up all those hydrocarbons and burning them.

there is a fascinating program called 'the great global warming swindle' kicking around out there which is worth a watch for an alternative view on the way its been spun for alternative agendas.

it does wind me up the way corporate interests interfere with what could be good measures. electric cars were around at the same time as the model t and if we had worked on that technology instead then who knows where we might be, the general motors electric car was a fantastic example of what could be done with a practical four seater capable of 70mh and 70 miles to a charge, but it was scrapped for fear of dealerships losing out on servicing and spares the deep cyclic nimh battery technology was sold to texaco and will probably never be seen again. instead we are stuck with either the prius or gwiz.
