Good grief...how do you even know what to believe anymore. No doubt global warming is a contraversial topic (and I'll leave it at that), but then you read something like this and just have to wonder. I think I'm ready to just move off the grid and live my life!

I know right? Heck, it from the sound of it, we'd have been better off if we just did nothing

It's way too confusing. We'll probably end up causing our own demise at some point trying to fix stuff lol

That's ok. The offshore drilling on the continental shelf has an increasing probability of releasing millions of tons of methane hydrate, or methane ice, trapped under the seabed for millions of years now, and fully capable of turning the world into an unlivable wasteland, creating a Venus-like greenhouse effect.

Can't wait. What fun THAT will be.

Bring it on!

I have this crazy idea, if we can get all the cows in the world to let one rip at the very same time as the drilling release, maybe the two forces will collide and a new world will be formed. A world with that new car smell

LOL! SO, in this "brave new world" of yours, somehow cow farts actually smell like Rich Corinthian Leather?

Nice!

Who's to say what the result might be?

They laughed at Columbus for thinking the world was round, just who had the last laugh huh?

Actually, by the time Columbus sailed, it was a common belief that the world was round. All he did was prove a then pop-culture idea.

Yeah, his only mistakes were believing there was no land between his side of the Atlantic and India, and the size of the planet (which the Greeks had down pretty close to the real thing, but no one in 1492 remembered that). He figured it would only take a short voyage to India, and if America HADN'T been there, he wouldn't have survived the trip. He simply wasn't provisioned for the actual distance. Heck, before they sighted the islands of the Dominican Republic, the crew was ready to mutiny because it had ALREADY been longer than Columbus had promised. Imagine sailing from around Haiti to India from THAT point with a crew already in trouble and on the verge of tossing the captain overboard.
