cost vs cost
I'm cool with all that. If changing out your light bulbs makes sense to you, then by all means do it. I recently changed out my heat/AC units. The old ones were 20 years old. The new ones are obviously a lot more efficient. I reckon I am on track to pay off the cost of the new units in six more years with the savings I've realized. So yes, cost is an issue. And in this case it made sense to me. But frankly I couldn't care less if I am reducing the carbon emissions made on my behalf by an amount equal to a goat's fart/day.
My point earlier was simply this. I am not going participate in any fad based on faux science and/or some wormy new age religion. And that's how I see this whole global warming phenom. I'm sure not going to waste my money on a solution to a non-problem. You watch. Another two years of anecdotal evidence that the earth may be cooling, the same hucksters who sell the "Ronco Personal Carbon Footprint Calculator" will be selling you systems designed to dump CO2 out into the environment by the metric tonne to reduce cooling. I can see it already, "Only you can prevent the pending ice age."
Again, I agree with you. Its a waste of time to argue all this. Its also foolish to base any decision - particularly one effecting your ability to survive - on junk science. And Lord knows there is a lot of that put there.
