I am glad that I don't have to be bribed into joining a site. I would rather learn from everybody elses experiences than to receive free gear. The knowledge is worth so much more.
I think that most everyone on the site are great and nobody goes off the deep end with doomsday language or ideas.
I thank Ron for putting the website together and for introducing me to so many great people. Keep it up you guy's, and thanks.

Maybe I've missed something - is there more than firesteels and paracord in the store?

I bought both before I joined the forum. When the products arrived the note included brought the forum to my attention. I checked it out and joined. There is a lot of great information here and I'm really enjoying it.

If there is more to the store that I have missed I would like to know. Always looking for cool stuff!

Default even in the back woods you can make fire

I’m new to this making fire stuff. I ordered the fire steel, got a piece of paper towel and it lit on fire (big accomplishment for a newbie) any how went from a paper towel to looking around for tinder and of course lit that on fire as well and I’m proud to say with just a little practice (over several days) I have been able to lit tinder and keep a roaring fire going. (Now to tackle the fire plow…. It’s a good thing I have a fire steel ha ha….

So, did you do the big bare-chested dance like in Cast Away? "Look what I have done!!! I ... Have made FIRE!!!"

Probably loses something in the translation if you aren't on a deserted island beach, eh?
