Thank you. Specifically, how did you find it?

Well I actually wrote it down when it was originally written by him, thought it might come in handy. I believe this is the site he gave...ITW Devcon | Two of the most recognized brands in all of industry; Devcon® and Permatex®.

Guerrilla Glue works well too.

Good idea guys. I have a new type of FireSteel scraper coming in soon. Then I'll send them a sample for review.

The FireSteel Tubes come in two sizes right now (with more soon).

3/8 diameter x 4-inches - the "Armageddon" FireSteel (will, of course, hold a FireSteel that is less than 4-inches long)

5/16 diameter x 4-inches - the "Survival FireSteel"

Also available are empty tubes, so that if you already have a FireSteel you can glue it into the cap yourself. Very easy to do.

Oh, and please, do not answer all at the same time, okay?
I use LOCTITE E-20HP HYSOL part# 29314 it's a two part epoxy that has a high peel/high shear strength we had to use this stuff at work for recalls on the MBE freeze plugs , where we had mount a fitted bracket over the rear freeze plugs and fill in the space between the bracket and the freeze plug, through a slotted port. apparently there was a problem with the 05's the Mercedes 4000 with their rear freeze plugs leaking in colder weather. well any way the Loctite that I use almost turns to steel when it cures its great.

Never heard of that stuff but thanks for sharing. Does anyone else know of any good adhesives (just for posterity)?

Also, can anyone think of alternative uses for the tube? I don't know how, but whenever I carry it in my front pocket, it seems women really notice me and approach me to talk. I think it must just be a good luck charm in a way?

How about any other tinder that can be used? I am not sure if we can beat using that steel wool though!

How about an 'outside the tube' (hehehe) method of picking out anything that might get stuck at the bottom? Perhaps institute another screw bottom?

I don't think there is much more refining that can be done with this tool nor its implementations, but hey, brainstorming never hurt.

I placed my order for one of the Armageddon tubes, and I can't wait to get it so that I can try it out. I watched the video that Ron shared with us and I liked what I saw.

This is off-topic, a bit, but it is a response to your question...

Another good adhesive that I use for construction-related needs is made by SIKA. It's called Sika-Flex. It's a polyurethane adhesive/sealant. It actually is able to cure under water, and I've heard of some folks using it for boat building. Tough stuff!

Now, back to Firesteel Tubes!
