I was waffling about whether or not I wanted a Firesteel.com tube for my firesteel when it dawned on me that it would make an excellent kubaton / keychain. The following link will provide some insight into what a kubaton is if you don’t already know.

Mastering The Yawara (Kubaton) 6-8 inches length

As we often espouse the value of having tools with us that have multiple purposes, and we often talk about the value in having hand to hand defense skills, I thought it was a perfect marriage.

I’m just trying to decide how many people I want to have one before making my order.

Ron, any plans on making a tube for the “bunker” steel?

Hey brother, well, in my eyes, this isn't off topic. To me, it is perfectly related, considering the fact some people might want to just buy the tubes and do it themselves. Besides, some people might not want to use gorilla glue (even though that IS one insanely strong adhesive), and in the back of their mind are curious about alternative industrial strength adhesives.

In my own humble opinion, ANYthing related about firesteel.com firesteel tubes IS talking on point. Now, if I was talking about those florescent pink unicorns that CW flies around on, or the very weird games he plays with leperchauns when they carry him around on their backs (don't ask!), now that would be off topic, and it wouldn't be just a bit.

Now, where was I? Oh yes, firesteel tube adhesives!

Yes, you could hit them in between the eyes, knock them out and then start them on fire! That'll teach'em. The tip of it would make one heck of a pressure/bone point instigator. And you can swing it around with the lanyard and honestly probably knock them out (or seriously knock the fight out of them!) if you have diligently practiced your aim with it (and I don't mean just a couple of hours a week. I mean diligently. If you don't practice, you will lose it.

Yes, there has been talk about making a Bunker FireSteel Tube. I would like to see it go into production.

I've read about the kubaton about 15 years ago. Even a short stout stick can be used in this way.

BTW, the Ranger Size FireSteel Tubes are in - I'll post them tomorrow.

Okay, Ron, seriously... not only would that be an UBER survival tool, it is the kind of stuff legends are made out of.... Seriously.

If I saw someone pull one of those out of their packs, I would respectfully give them space and a wide birth much like the soldiers during Vietnam did for their comrades who shaved their heads in mohawk.

I wonder if there is a design you could implement that would make it more kuboton-like? Just a thought. Thank you for the update concerning the Ranger Size firesteel.com firesteel tubes coming out.

I want a “bunker” firesteel tube! *to be read in a whiny tantrumy way*
Maybe if we pre-order it will increase the likelihood of them going into production?
I’m good for 6 … for now.

I got my Armageddon Firesteel tube today, and I really like the handle concept. It gives you much better control when making fire. Although,I would really like to see a Firesteel Tube come out for the Bunker Firesteels.

I have to agree with you all. I plan on ordering a steel asap, and when i saw the tubes, immediately was looking for the Bunker one.

I'm sure I will make due with the Armageddon one...for now Then it will get moved to my car or BOB

Ron,

Recieved my ARMAGEDON FRESTEEL TUBE. This thing is awsome. Using you new striker makes a difference. I was wondering if i could grind the tip to a conical point. like a snow cone cup. This not only makes it a great firestarter, but also a spike or spear tip. but i would wonder if the steel would hole a point very well. then i wouldn't have to worry about making a spike for any tension trap.
