Default salt water

I think I posted this somewhere but it probably needs to be in this thread too. I can't speak from personal experience but I've read that firesteels have to be protected from salt water so I'd guess these tubes would be really good for that.

Default I don't think I've ever posted on this thread

I've been lurking around this thread for months and I don't think I've posted on it before. Must not have had anything to add.
I have been absorbing info from you all but never got around to thanking you for all that knowledge. Thanks a bunch for sharing.
I'm a novice at the survival game but am definitely getting interested in it after seeing what some of you do. I've learned to start fires, both in the back yard and in the mountains, with a firesteel and with a firepiston.
My 5 year old grandson says I'm too old to do this kind of thing, especially since he also can start a fire with a firesteel. But I'll take old age and treachery over youth and skill any day.
Anyway, Thanks for sharing. Hope to be hanging around this and the new forum (POG) for a long time.

just have some questions on these. I have a bunch of firesteel blanks i use and love. I am interested in picking up a tube. my question is how are the blanks attached to the tubes? are they epoxied in? If i wear through a blank, can i replace the one in there or do i have to buy a new tube?

Thanks
