 A tinderbox tip.
Put a small pencil sharpener in my tinderbox. Just grab a twig and you've got practically instant tinder. Also, one of those plastic travel soap containers is perfect for holding all your firestarting gear.

You bettcha, Jack! That is a good tip. Roadracer introduced us to that one a while back. After I saw that, while walking through our local Lowes store, I saw that Kobalt has a sharpener that's just a bit larger than the one used for No.2 pencils, and it will accept odd-shaped twigs. It's good to re-introduce ideas like this, occasionally, for the benefit of new members who haven't been able to comb back through thousands of old posts! Thanks!

Hmmm....now this is something completely new to me. I missed that thread too. LOL I'm gonna do this for sure! I love it when we get new stuff!
