Tj, funny how things happen. I did a utube vid on this a few months back for the same reason "multi-tasking items”. I used 3 Anti cream but it also had a melaleuca oil as an added base, more oil more burn. I thought I was pretty sharp thinking that one up, but now you tell me CW had the same thoughts,… that make me feel good cause Dat man he a berry mart fella. BTW don’t worry about the ointment turning bad, rotate them . I carry about 10, you will blow threw them in 2/3 weeks if you spend any time in the woods. I keep mine in a cut down cigar tube, another muli-task item as well.

"Triple antibiotic ointment is a combination of topical antibiotics used to prevent infection in minor wounds. In the United States, it contains bacitracin, polymyxin B, and neomycin, and is commonly sold under the brand name Neosporin. In Canada, it contains bacitracin, polymyxin B, and gramicidin."

LOLOLOLOLOL!!! WOW! Not the thread I expected to see when I logged on today!! Hahahaha! Leave it to TJ! Yeah, I've never taken pics of them, but those have been very useful in times when the Blistex or Vaseline Lip Balm tubes ran dry and conditions were pretty bad for firelighting. As was stated, it's kind of a waste, but if it comes down to a warm fire now, and having to use alcohol gel or wipes on a boo-boo later instead of AB Cream, I'll take the fire thanks. The creams actually ARE antibiotics, thus have contributed to the creation of Superbugs, resistant to a lot of ABs. Just like antibacterial soap, it is something that had a good intention, but has done a lot of harm instead. I carry several small tubes of Neosporin but try to use it sparingly on minor wounds. As for the title here, "CW's Triple Balls", well ....... survivalists have always believed in the Rule of Threes. Always have a backup for your backup. ![]() (And as for having firey balls, I have to think that antibiotic cream would clear that right up! LOL)

| Man, you guys are just shoveling the rest of us lotsa' food for fodder. First, we find out that TJ's Balls need to be fluffed and now we discover that Celtic is a biological marvel with "triple balls." Excellent material gentlemen. Thanks for making the lives of some of us a little easier. ![]() Celtic, I'm with you on the good intentions creating unintended consequences. I've talked with a few immunologists who say that one of the big problems that they're discovering is that parents are oftentimes too protective of their kids, i.e., constantly disinfecting them and shielding them from some of the nasties out there. Sorta like helping out a butterfly while still in the cocoon. If we rob them of the necessary struggle, they're the worse off for it. So..."use it sparingly on minor wounds"; to be sure, that's pretty good advice. Good advice that's sure to be eschewed notwithstanding.

Having "Triple Balls" in one's pack assumes that one knows how to use them appropriately as a first-aid item. With that said, for the right type of minor wound, and used properly, "Triple" ointment CAN help prevent infection...and, in the middle of nowhere, under primitive conditions, infection of any kind needs to be avoided, as much as possible. On top of that, "Triple Balls" are also one heck of a good fire starter! The idea of all our packed items having multiple uses is really the major theme of this thread... Nice idea. I have a tube in my first aid kit. I don't know if I would have thought of using it to start a fire if i ran out of pj balls, magnesium, hand sanitizer and alcohol wipes.
