Default The Swiss and Arms

Why does Switzerland have such low crime rates and are very rarely invaded while their neighboring countries are often embroiled in war:

"I want to be free, never in the situation where somebody could march us off to ovens or prisons. The key to freedom is the ability to defend yourself. If you don't have the tools to do that then you are at the mercy of them to put you away. And the tools to do that are guns."

With nearly every able bodied person well armed in Switzerland, invaders think twice before entering - either foreign invading countries, or invaders (thieves) of Swiss homes. The risk is just too high.

Without a doubt, guns keep us free. Guns keep us and our families safe.

Those politicians who would take away your guns are anti-freedom and anti-personal defense advocates. They must be voted out of office - and that is where your vote comes in.

Great post Ron! very true. The other amazing thing is that there is a whole nation of people responsible and intelligent enough to realize this fact.

Yes, Ron! Great post! Makes me grateful for, and proud of, my Swiss heritage. My Great Grandfather and his brother were brought to this country from Switzerland by the Cleveland Quarry company to develop the largest sandstone quarry in the world, in Amherst, OH. In addition to their engineering skills, they also brought their Swiss culture with them. They helped to found a "Swiss Lodge" and kept their culture alive. That culture was passed onto their offspring -- it was my Swiss grandfather who taught me how to shoot a rifle..."Thanks, Grandpa!"

It only took them half a century to acknowledge the stolen bank accounts of murdered jews and reform a banking system that funneled the world's dirty money. I guess they were all at the shooting ranges. Every society has it's shining points and it's dark ones. Those that yodel to loud about the bright ones draw attention to the shadows too.

What the heck does any of that have to do with this thread? Noone is celebrating Switzerland as being perfect in every way, or even close to it. This is just an example of what really happens when a populace, as a whole, is well armed; versus what liberal politicians want you to believe would happen if that occurred.

I've heard countless recollections by people who were high up in the military hierarchy of their country during times of war, and when all of them are asked why they didn't try to invade America as they had other countries, they all say the exact same thing......the huge number of guns in the possession of the citizenry.

I disagree, I think his point is a valid one.....

But the real issue here certainly isn`t the Swiss, it`s about an armed populace, and more specifically, an armed American citizenry, and our Second Amendment rights.....I`m a broken record, but if you aren`t already, join NRA, GOA, JPFO, and don`t simply send in dues, become active at the grassroots level.

I did not spend enough time in Switzerland. A beutiful country with good people. Respect and education could be alot of it. The Swiss have plenty. Arms. Community Schutzen Fest, Required service, knowing your neighbor will be next too you in time of need or invasion. They have a pretty good Constitution also. Yep, an armed society is a safe and polite society.

Another thing about the swiss people which I think is truly amazing, they design the very best equipment for there people in mass quantities and there enviroment.

Most all the products you see from the swiss are the very best of the best in quality and they come from manufacturers that produce whatever it may be in mass quantities and they will look elsewhere for the best of the best if they are unable to produce it themselves.

Example: The leopard german tank they purchased because they had problems creating one they wanted themselves for there country.

I have all the respect in the world for the swiss and there ability to defend there small country against superior numbers with superior technology, training, and the will to survive by designing equipment for its populous that is right for there enviroment.

I watch the military channel all the time and there quality like the germans at creating what WORKS for the enviroment they live in is mind blowing.

To rage war on a small country like that is going to cost you dearly. I respect that greatly as an american.
