Thanks for the great links, C#. Activism and citizen involvement is what makes this country great, and is the last great vestage of true democracy. 1 man, 1 vote. Get the word out there and the "talking heads" always say that for every person who takes the time to complain, there are XX number of people who feel the same but didn't come forward. They base all their decisions on how many people complain, and the assumed "silent majority" they represent, so the more of us get out there and say this stinks, the more the powers-that-be will take it seriously.

CW,

I would think a renaissance man like yourself had said the Pledge of Allegiance enough times to remember that we were never intended to be a Democracy. Please allow me to quote..

..... and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under god, indivisable with liberty and justice for all....

True, the US was never meant to be a true democracy. Doesn't mean that a man can't dream, does it? However, the fact is that the Democratic Republic (representational government) is a necessary evil, since allowing all the people to make all the decisions all of the time would take forever, and besides being impractical, would allow the average sheeple to make their generally stupid decisions and actively affect all of us on every issue. It's bad enough NOW!

No Problemo, CW... It's not too late to make a BIG difference on this. It is in committee - and thus can be entirely re-written.... or at least improved. BUT the main reason to write is this: As the reps "hear" from more and more people, some may then "hold their ground" for changes, and this thing could die in committee - or at the very least be delayed, so that more and more Americans become aware of its details. Then after it passes -and it is shown to be a colossal failure - then the Democrats will more surely "own it". .... Thus helping get Republicans elected in 2010 & 2012.
