Today I just bought a suture needles and threaded braid at the farm store. Also some different sizes of scalpel blades. Penicillin and other worth while supplies are readily available.

One thing I might add is as a dog handler, I have had occasion to stop bleeding sometimes fairly strong, small arterial bleeding. Flour and compression works remarkably well.
