so using a few chlorine water tabs in a strong solution should help if nothing else then or those dried bleach tablets I pick up.

if you get it out in the woods then you could dig out hollow, line with a foil blanket and make a bath.

so glad we dont get it here, along with chiggers. just got nettles, ticks and electric fences to deal with.

It may help you now if you do as the other person suggested and pour pure bleach on the rash but I never recommend pure bleach as it is truly truly toxic to us humans! (And bugs and pets and mold . . .) I have always washed up with the 50/50 mixture after exposure but before rash and so never had the rash other than my first time as a kid. Feel free to try what he/she said about pouring it on if you are desparate - wish I knew more to help you

I never got it as a kid but when I got older all I have to do it just look at it and BAM I've got it. I get it bad too.
I usually just let it run its course and it goes away soon enough. I put some neosporin on it and it's better. I'll check out Cowgirl's link I think.
I forgot that I tested a small area with some of Jake's medicine and it went away after one application. I'll putting some on my arm where it's bigger and see what happens over night. Hope it's gone by morning. If not I'm going Plaintain hunting!!!!

Yeah CL alot of people don't always stay immune to it. Every season where I fish several times i'm forced to walk through tons of it if I wan't to get the good fish. Hopefully the immunity stays with me.

Funny, when I was trying to find a decent info site to post I came across one that said to eat small bits of in early in spring to help you to become immune to it.

I'm not taking that chance!!!

Several sites also mentioned that natural immunity decreses with exposure.

I get poison ivy driving down a gravel road with the window down. I get it bad, bad.

The only thing that works for me is go to the DR and get a shot.

Actually, exposure increases immunity. There are many confirmed cases where people have developed increased immunity and/or tolerance to venom by injecting themselves with gradually more potent doses over a period of time.

As with anything like this, it depends on your own personal metabolism, health, body make-up and various other factors.
