That big one might make up a nice omelet, all by itself...add some cheese, bacon, onion, mushrooms, more cheese, bits of ham...OK, I'm done typing...IT'S TIME FOR BREAKFAST!

with the ones we have now it is between 6-9 months depending on the weather (the warmer it is the more they lay) they tend to drop off over winter but so do the chooks

at the moment we have 18 broiler turkeys (10-12 eggs a day total)
25 meat turkeys (maybe 1 a fornight from these if you are lucky)
30 meat hens (same as meat turkeys)
60 broiler hens (45-50 eggs a day from them total)

the broiler hens are isa browns and the meat hens are australorp, dunno what the turkey breeds are

the egg production drops to a third or quarter over winter for both the turkeys and chooks

very nice garret. never eaten turkey eggs. have had chicken and guinea eggs. my grandmother's former neighbor has some emu's. got one of those once and made an omlet with it. not bad, and it's enough for two people.
