Thanks that brings back some memories. My youngest is now 33. They still talk about the back packing and hunting trips they will have those memories for ever WC.

wow, thats awesome...happy kids.I miss my Dads squirrel sauce piquant, thats one of the recipes i would have asked him about before he passed.I just cant get it to taste like his.I love squirrel and dumplings and camp stew

you can use it in anything youd use chicken or rabbit in..Very tasty.

I had barbeque Squirrel once many years ago but not long enough. I still remember that I didn't like it. BUT.....if I am hungry enough I'll eat anything I have to to live.

This thread reminds me of the first Shrek movie when he's cooking swap rats over a fire for the princess... Kinda morbid to a city girl like me where I see a squirrel and am all "oh it's so cute, look at that fluffy little tail and ah..." But once you get down to it... it's really not all that different from chicken is it? lol
