Default Braided fishing line differences

Greetings All,
Got to doing some research on "braided fishing line" (that's what I googled) and found some information that might be of interest. Pretty much all the sites I visited, warned of using care when handling the line with your hands, it will cut into your hands very easy. It requires different types of knots than does mono line and when used with a rod and reel, handles a little different with or without a fish on the line. It has no stretch to it and the color tends to come off the line (doesn't effect the line at all). I still love the idea that I can carry more length and stronger line, with no memory in the same amount of space.

I couldn't agree more! there is almost as many uses for good strong fishing line as there is 550.

Emergency nothin, I use it for all my small animal snares. I mean I could use a whole lot of other stuff but heavy braided or even mono works really well, plus it seems to dig deeper, making it harder for the little fluffy friend to get out and I have found that it seems to kill them more often then wire. I have found many of my wire traps with animals still alive but not so much with fishing line traps. (makes great trip wire too!!)

I've got it on all my catfish & carp reels. I've also used it to wrap paracord eds for a dressy lashed look.

OK since this thread started I've been looking at spiderwire, but can't seem to "commit" to any one size/diameter. Anyone have any suggestions. I know I'm gonna buy some I just can't figure what strength to get.

Another use that I have used it for- I sewed a Stirrup & fender back on a saddle once with the stuff. It worked Great! Even with my sloppy stitching.
