I'm thinking about using a stuffsack made of the stuff for my survival items. I was also thinking about the Maxpedition FR-1.

My concern is the puncture, tear, abrasion resistance of sil-nylon. I certainly don't want all my carefully selected and packaged survival materials spilling out when I need them the most. The weight savings and water resistance of the material are some very compelling positives.

The stuffsack in particular is the Granite Gear air Bag #3 - I have a Sierra cup that has almost the same diameter as the bag, so it would go in the bottom of the cylinderical bag, with the other stuff (surplus decon box and quart freezer ziplock filled) would go right on top. There would probably be room for an entire 100-foot hank of 550 as well.
