Default Snare wire

My wife is a pretty avid gardener and the other day I was straightening the garage and I saw she had a roll of green plant wire which she bought at a store (I think it was Wal-Mart) for around 12 bucks. Well, a light bulb went off over my head so I took approximately 100 ft. of the wire, wound it around a bolt, and stuck it in my survival kit for snare wire. I don't know what the exact breaking strength is, but it's pretty stout stuff and will fit the bill if you're looking for snare wire.

Nice idea, Jack. Naturally camouflaged, too!

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, good idea!

I wonder if I were to take some of that garden wire and scent the trap with something like home made walnut or almond butter, not the commercial stuff, how that would work.

Thinking I'm going to have to get some of that and come Spring, see what I can trap.

Thanks for the idea

I use 7 strand copper fishing line. It is rated for 40 pounds and it is real easy to work with. After you fix your trip wire, you can bend it and shape it to whatever you desire.

It will probably work pretty well. Personally, I carry aircraft cable snares with me. They have a lock to prevent the loop from backing off and are light enough to carry a half dozen and never notice the weight.
