| It's a couple of projects. I wanted to make a couple of belts and a bracelet. Then whatever is left over can be put in the emergency bag or the hiking packs. Unless i decide to weave myself a small shelter...

| she's been knitting a paracord body suit.... and to answer the question, about 50' pre-cut into proper lengths for tarp; probably 25' more in my creations (bracelet, firesteels, knife, staff, beads etc.) Last edited by kevin; 11-17-2009 at 08:38. |

Around 200 feet. Which is to say not enough! (My wife has accused me of having a para cord fetish.)

2 - 50' hanks, 1 - 100' spool, 1 - wristband (>12') about 3' each wrapped around handles of: E-tool, cheap sheath survival knife, ranger axe. plus replaced boot laces with about 3' + of paracord with melted tips. I don't recall what amounts are in the bag I keep my tent, fly and tarp in. Likely the 30' mainline, plus several (less than a dozen) smaller pieces for tie downs and fly lashings. Also, replaced all buttons on hunting clothes with 20# fishing mono-line.

do you not find kinked cord difficult to use? I've had my had band for 10 years at least in sun wind rain and snow and I know its going to be a pain if I have to unravel it. same for the wrist band I have which goes in the shower and anywhere else. for general use I have a few 10 foot hanks in each back pocket and a few distributed around my gear. survival wise you should need very little cord I reckon. |

| I think NEED is the key word here. Want is a whole nother thing
