Nope, it was put to a vote back in the late 80's and yes, the majority of residents chose democratically that they were to be known henceforth as "Michiganians". The rest of us Michiganders have been slowly biding our time and regrouping for a coup ever since.

(The radical "Michigummite" contingent hasn't been heard from since then, and are presumed to have committed mass suicide by walking into Lake Superior in mid-winter. LOL )
