Welcome to the pack. So, what's your history Jack? Opening a school so what's your cred? Ex-military? eagle scout? raised by natives? spent 5 years in the wild? You don't have to tell us but I speak for myself when I say.. "We wanna know!!"

I served eight years in the Coast Guard. My interest in stories of human survival was ignited when a friend loaned me Stephen Callahan's Adrift. From that point I read the occasional survival book or story, but I really got interested from watching 'Survivorman' and got all the survival manuals I could lay my hands on. Then a couple of years ago my Father in law Henry, who is retired Special Forces and a founding member of Delta Force took me and a group of my friends on a survival camping trip and I just fell in love with the whole experience. We've been on a few trips since and I asked Henry what he thought about turning it into a money making venture and he said okay. He's going to be the senior instructor and I will be his assistant. Right now we're waiting to hear from the insurance company and then we have to apply for the business license. He lives in rural Georgia (a little town called Baxley) and has a friend who owns a lot of swampland in the area so we won't lack for a place to hold the course. Hopefully we'll be launching in the early Spring. I can't wait.

I spent a couple of days reading the forum before deciding to join and I noticed the friendliness of this place right off the bat!
