Default Greetings everyone!

Well, I happened upon this site and thought, what the heck, I'll register and see what's going on here.

First things first, so I can get it out of the way....yes, I'm a ninja and I'm bald, as in a cleanly shaven head, not genetics screwed me out of having hair-bald.

I have a very strong survivalist mentality, or as most who know me call it, paranoia....lol I guess when I spent that one year in the Boy Scouts and they taught me that first lesson, it really stuck with me. Always be prepared, yes sir, and then some.

You name it and I've likely either got it, know precisely where to go to get it in a pinch or have decided that it's not really necessary. I'm prepared for pretty much any scenario that may be thrown at humanity.....and some that would only be thrown at us by a science fiction writer, but you never know, so may as well be prepared for those eventualities as well.

I've thought out and planned for any and all events, so can likely add constructive advice to any discussions handling said topics. I've also included psychology in this process, as it is just as important to know what order to acquire things in as it is to know what things you'll need to acquire.

And don't worry, I'm not fanatical about my survivalist tendacies. I can laugh at my own silliness at times, as some of my preparedness is actually quite amusing, even to myself. But it is still something I feel I should be constantly building upon, just in case. As the old saying goes, it's better to have something and not need it, than to need something and not have it.

Well, historically, ninjitsu is the "official" martial art of the ninja, which I've studied a decent amount of. But as one delves into the actual art of the ninja, you learn that the martial arts aspect of being a ninja are actually the least important parts. Being a ninja, in all practicality, is mostly about being able to be one, literally, with your environment. By that I mean that you learn to A.) always study every aspect of your environment - what is where, what can be used as weapons(which, by the way, is nearly everything), possible escape routes for any and all circumstances, potential threats(from people, to inanimate objects).....just an overall awareness of everything around you; B.) the ability to adapt to one's surroundings, which if you can properly follow through with everything in "A.)", you should have no problem doing; and C.) the ability to use every aspect of the environment to your advantage, whether it be in combat or something as simple as creating the safest place possible for you to slumber at night.

A normal person, if put in a completely foreign environment, will typically find themselves lamenting over all of the things they are familiar with but no longer have. A ninja will, instead, immediately begin assessing the area around them and will delight in all of the many useful things being offered up for their use. It's the difference between seeing a heap of garbage and complaining of the smell and dirtiness of it all, versus seeing that same heap of garbage and seeing a plethora of materials that can be cleaned, altered and used for any number of useful projects/tasks. A thousand tin cans may seem like a mess of garbage to most, but I, as a ninja, see the potential metal siding that can be used to make my soon to be built house all the more durable(and water proof), after I remove the tops and bottoms, and flatten them into workable pieces of metal. Even rotting food can be useful. Just because I can't eat it, doesn't mean something doesn't already plan to. I can use it as bait to catch other animals, or if it's too rancid, I can use it to lure things(insects primarily) that I can then use for bait to catch larger things, like fish and birds.

Ya know, I just realized that my initial response was a bit misleading. I know a ton of martial arts, when I said I studied a "decent amount of" in reference to ninjitsu, I meant that particular form of martial arts. I've studied a decent amount of over 20 forms of martial arts, all privately. So I have no "belts" to speak of, but as far as time spent studying, I have the equivalent of several black belts. My teacher was what ended up being later diagnosed as a paranoid schyzophraenic, so that made things all the more interesting, as you can imagine....lol

Yes, what he said!

Ninjutsu, or Ninpo as it is most commonly called now, is simply the hand to hand. Being a Shinobi, meaning "one who steals away", is someone trained to be able to blend into any environment, adapt to virtually any situation and use what is at hand to their advantage.

I have been a practitioner of Ninjutsu for over 30 years, both here and Japan, and there is a great deal more to Ninja than the black uniform, spying and the flips and stuff.

The trademark of a Ninja, truthfully, is the ability to adapt, blend and not be noticed. Many historians have theorized that the Ninja are what a great deal of the SpecOps techniques originated from.
