I am very cheap. I don't spend money on knives but have some decent ones I guess. 1 Ontario U.S. Airforce survival Bought at garage sale for $1 - like new. 1 Gerber 600 folder. I like this one it holds a great edge and is robust. Found it on the side of the road. 1 Buck 443 folder with half serrated blade. Christmas present from wife. I'm working on building one from a leaf spring.Machete/axe/hammer/scythe.I want one like this..Tom Brown Jr Tracker. |

My favorite EDC blade is one a buddy of mine made for me. I had the privilege of naming it for him...the CKC Hiker. The blade is made out of L6 tool steel. My favorite folder (which I actually own currently): Kershaw Skyline My favorite fixed blade (larger than 3"): Fehrman Peace Maker (CPM 3V Steel & an excellent, labor-intensive heat treatment -- unbelievable quality...right on par with INFI)

My full-size serrated kabar My 4 inch boot knife I've had since I was a kid My hunting knife that I can't find anywhere on the internet I have a folder, but the locking pin behind the blade snapped off, so sawing with it would work, but stabbing, not so much. |

I use my cheap market mora, they are sharp somewhat easy to sharpen and they keep there edge. Also they take the beating and if they break, 20$ i have a new one. Also i carry a crkt kiss, nice small one to open boxes and goes in my pocket nicely. Tho i guess its a money clip really and the name isnt the best but it works when iam on the job. Regards Bart |

If I have to choose just one Folder nothing beats the utility of an SAK, I would rather have a SAK than a multi-tool. Easier to carry and depending on the model many more uses. If I can have 2 folders then my 2nd choice is My CRKT M-21-04G. Fully open it is as big as some fixed blades, but easier to carry and definitely less noticeable, than a fixed Blade. Easy to sharpen, holds an edge well, open length 9 1/4" OAL. The fixed blade that I would go to that is currently in my possession. Is the Cold Steel Tru-flight Thrower. But the one I want is from Fiddleback Forge, The Woodsman. Here's a couple of pictures of this particular Model.
