Awesome explanation CW hehe well i think Im setting a record for making people hate me in a forum Cowgirl sorry for confusing you justthought Id offer somehing most people dont readily know. CW is 100% right because we are much more modern seafarers we tend to have a clue where we are somewhat compared to our ancestors 100s of years ago. My example merely gets you back on track and at least gives you something to work with if unfortunately you have nothing. whats the alternative to my post? Well sit drift hope wait and prob die so its just a tool to go in your tool box not a solution to build a whole building from the ground up.Thx CW for the excellent breakdown. In some ways Im starting to wonder did I walk into a forum of people serious about survival and its methods or is it a bunch of cliques, internet relationships that are easily bruised and offended. Additionally is it also a place of ego and intolerance or a sincere place where people serious about todays real concerns openly voice their opinions, ideas and enthusiasm to share ideas and methods that may ease suffering, enhance productivity etc. Unfortunately CW my friend Im starting to think the former rather than latter. By the way cowgirl this I no way relect on this subject or your comments whatsoever I assure you. And CW for you its just a sounding board not meant directionally for you quite opposite.

Tim,

I think you're wrong about this site. You are just a really technical person and you speak "tech". Nothing wrong with that but you are hanging out with civillians now. You might need to dumb it down a bit.

Also, I like that we can joke around a bit. I can't be all gloom, doom, SHTF, TEOTWAWKI, EPM's, Zombies chasing me, whatever all the time. It's just too stressful and I learn better in a light environment.

Honestly, buddy, I really think you have us pegged wrong. We mostly like to keep it light, but if you look around in some of the older posts, we have gone into GREAT depth about a lot of subjects (oh ok....I have, and a couple others, like TJ, RR, and LaRem. The rest of the folks here can somehow tell us their stuff in less than two typewritten pages! LOL) and are generally very willing to learn new ideas or discuss the merits of different ways to do things. I think, as Cowgirl says, that YOU know what you are talking about, and it is just a matter of getting it across in a way that makes sense to people reading it in the context of a forum like this, rather than say in a seminar where you can SEE what someone is doing while they describe it. I think you are used to doing that, show and tell, and it is missing that important "show" part here. LOL. We APPRECIATE the hell out of someone like you, that has the RW experience and the knowledge on such a wide range of subjects. I just think that you are trying to pour 10 pounds o' flour into a 5 pound bag. Folks seem to be getting lost in the explaination.

It will all work out if you give us a chance though, Warvet. We are still getting to know each other, and soon enough, you will see how folks post around here and adjust accordingly, and we will get used to the way YOU post, and we will make the transition as well. It is like any partnership, you just have to give it time to gel properly. I know you will be a huge asset here, and have proven that already in a lot of posts. We all just need to figure out the best way to talk to each other, I guess. I hope you give us that chance. By the way. I don't think ANYONE in this forum hates you, or anyone else here. We just aren't that kind of group. For the most part, it's a family here. Just gotta get used to those weird cousins, that's all. Hehehe!

So Tim, I had some time to think this over while at work.

It all comes down to perception. In the group of friends we have, believe it or not I shine at survival. Next to the one guy who did mountain rescue I'd be second in overall knowledge and experience. And, I know that there is tons more to not only know but be competent at. I'm still an infant.
I get here with Ron Fontaine, Celtic Warrior, Mac, Woods Custom, RR, Dick.. Too many to mention who have amazing skills and knowledge. What can I contribute to that? Not much. So, I try to be good company, be supportive when needed, entertaining if possible. I can't get voted off the island because we all now know I can't navigate worth crap!!!

I joined this site to learn just like the majority who mention that they are new at this in their first post. I think it's great here. Bunch of nice people learning together!

Cowgirlup,

We will walk thru fire with you, or for you.

You will never get voted off the island.

Cowgirl, I'm with ya on this one. I was doin' okay for a hot minute then he got all tech and lost me completely. I didn't even bother to read some of the other posts.
I too joined because I knew I could learn a ton of stuff. I shine too here at home in my circle of friends but on here I'm just tryin' to keep it simple so I can soak it all in. I don't think they'll vote you off the island , I would protest too much!!!!!

Sometimes uns to get out of a complex problem like lost at sea it requires a complex solution. If I can help explain better pls fire away.
