I had the HighGear Alterra for 3 years from Eastern Mountain Sports. the wrist band broke off 3yrs in a row and the whole watch needs to be replaced. EMS took care of it each time (great customer service). After third time I swapped for Suunto Vector (has 2yr warranty). After a year it was loosing its water resistance (fogging over after even a shower). EMS swapped it again last week this time for another Vector. I prefer the Vector to the HighGear. Go with a company like EMS that stands by products if you get one, based on my experience.

I have used the vector model for many years and its always been extremely reliable, rugged and accurate. Suunto, is the most popular of these types of watches for the outdoors for many years.. Expensive but will last a good 20 years plus. Hope this helps.

Timex recently came out with a watch that has the features that you are looking for on it. It is called a WS4.
I can't find it at retailers in my area, so good luck.

Thanks for the heads up on this one, I thinks I'll look into this one a bit.

$169.15 at Moosejaw.

Still kind of spendy, but hurts $30 less
