You have exactly $0.37, a paperclip, a fingernail clipping, and more lint than I do right now...

take its that in reference to the newsy stuff on communes over there as a way of beating the credit crunch.

any proper farm style commune is a survival activity I reckon unless its a hippie love in like roadracers house

same principle as bronze age farmers and roundhouse/long house settlements

I meant the commune bit as more of a joke. But if any of you all want to try and wrangle the funds for that place...

ah but it is a valid point and for those thinking about civil unrest or zombies then a commune would be the best way of hedging your bets by attracting and gathering the necessary skills required in time it would evolve into a village and then town just like the old days

there is a place for sale over here in aus along a similar vien (not quite as large acreage but what would you do with all that land anyway)

50 acres Lrg 4 bedroom home at Rosewood NSW 2652 - eBay NSW, For Sale, Real Estate, Home. (end time 01-Jul-09 11:03:35 AEST)

i think 50 acres whould be enough

I'm gonna go with no on that funnelweb vs zombie. I don't see how any sort of venom/toxin/poison would work on the re-animated dead.

Now dingos on the other hand...

It would be cool to acquire that land and create a town there and make the town famous with mandatory gun laws (I mean mandatory that every citizen own firearms). There would be very low property taxes since there would be no need to pay a police force (would still need a school). And with the founding citizens all being survivalists, the economy would thrive since we are all cheapskates who don't export our money easily (more money coming in than going out is a GOOD thing). 800 acres of the land would be owned by an LLC which would deal in cattle, crops, bottled water, and manufacturing of various survival products, and that LLC would employ the founding citizens.
