Default Calling All Swingers; Hammocks Anyone????

Have been a ground sleeper all my outdoor life, and now I'm giving Hammock camping a try. I just got a good deal on two Hennesy Hammocks and the wife and I thought we'd become "Swingers", thats what they call above ground sleepers.....
Are any of you Swingers? If so what type of set up dp you use?

When we can get the Hammocks out and get them up I'll post some pictures

Hennesey Hammock has a hammock rated for 350#, but for one or 2@ 150. might be able to search and find one out there. These hammocks are not your typical beach hammocks

what i actually use is something i built myself for under 50 bucks. however its not transportable without a truck lol. i work in the medical mobility industry and we deal with hospital beds in residences. ive got several mattresses made by Invacare that i got for free. brand new but out of the plastic wrapper so can not sell them. then i bought 10 2x4's, 2 sheets of osb plywood, and 4 4x4 square posts and made a bunk bed that can have the top bunk moved to be flush to the bottom one side by side. used dowel rods to hold the legs of the top one to the bottom one. ill have to take pics next time im out of town and post them for everyone. but i still want a hammock just because i dont have one yet lol

I have been looking into the Hennessey Hammocks as well. I like what I see, but to ozark dave's point, it's comfort built for one. It seems that your gear will need to be left outside and exposed unlike a tent, but it certainly does open up lots of options where you don't have level ground to pitch your tent.

I think this would be a great option to have when it's just you and the wilderness. Please post a review once you've had a chance to use it. Also which model did you get your deal on?

EXPEDITION ASYM
2 lb.12oz. / 1230g

Height Limit:
up to 6'ft

Weight limit:
250lbs

it has a smaller tarp, but they make a larger tarp that you can get. The tarp completly covers the hammock and a few feet either side. I have a 10x10 silnylon tarp i can replace it with if I need to. I keep all my backpacking gear in H20 proof bags and always use my pack cover so wet gear is not a problem.

I grew up using surplus army jungle hammocks, My grandfather loved them. We used them on early season hunting trips and lots of camping trips. They were not the best choice for extreme cold weather camping, too much air flow around them. Any time other then the dead of maines winter we used them and they kept us off the ground, out of the water and bugs. Heck I use to run a length of para cord to a another tree and up under my bug netting so I could rock myself to sleep. Mine is gone now because some one broke into our camp and took them, sleeping bags, food and the wild turky:mad. I am looking at getting one of the newer, lighter, high tec ones.
