I want to pass along some info on two books "Cabins-a guide to building your own nature retreat" and "Rustic Retreats-a build-it-yourself guide" both were written by David and Jeanie Stiles.

The first book- Cabins- focuses on site selection,construction safety,foundation building,sanitation,water,etc. The cabin plans include a log cabin,pyramid cabin,A-frame cabin,pole-built cabin and a mediterranean cabin/earth sheltered cabin.

The second book-Rustic Retreats-focuses mainly on temporary structures-wigwams,yurts,teepees,lean-to,fold-up tree house and some small cabins.

Both books are 20.00 each and can be found at Amazon.com.

If were to build a permanent structure I would go with the Cabins book.
If I wanted to build a temp structure for the kids or a inexpensive get-away then I would go Rustic Retreats book

I love what this guy did. Only 14'x14' but can easily be expanded. His E-book is 5 bucks and has some great pics and details on this build. All in all a great design and looks comfortable. The E-book includes a bunch of other info for living "off grid" and homesteading. DUH! Just realized where I got this link.... two posts down LOL. Thanks Lamar for the great e-book. I'm enjoying it.
