I love the idea Cowgirl. I have stashed many garbage bags but the visqueen is a better idea with bungees. Is it available at Home Depot or where did you buy it off the roll? SG

Thanks and great idea, I just saw this thread now.

Could work in the tree line in deep snow with a snow tree well.

We have it at home by the roll. You can get it at HD or any hardware store. Good useful stuff to have around for lots of uses.
I have contractor bags in the car too. But I like this idea because you could probably get more comfortable under the quick plastic teepee than trying to stay under a bag.

Yeah, if you're under a good type of pine tree. You could dig small pits for heated rocks to keep it warm. I think you would want to pull a little bit of the plastic out of the bungee cord to vent it a little so there wouldn't be as much condensation.

Another resource are mattress companies. They use heavy plastic bags to store and transport the things clean. Make friends, beg, borrow or steal one or just buy a new bed.

Tyvek and 50-gallon drum liners are good additions to a kit too.

I'm going to take a look at this Visqueen product you guys are recommending.
