Um is generally what people say when they're not sure what to say or thinking of what to say. Just saying you're getting sort of intense over something I said over the internet... not trying to offend you or anything, you know? Most of the topics here were made before I joined, too. And I posted because I had something to say on the topic, which is that I'd rather not carry them because I don't think carrying explosives next to your back is a great idea when you're moving a lot and various things might happen.

Also, the C4 thing was a dumb joke, I tend to make those when people get offended... they usually don't work the way I want them too (make people STOP being so angry at me, usually), so... yeah.

If you want to carry stuff that goes boom with you, that's all good, you know? Your choice. I'd prefer not doing that, so I said so. If you took it as insulting, sorry about that.

Also, I wasn't trying to make people look stupid. So... I'm done on this thread, I think...

hey stairman personally I think that the bottle rockets would not be a bad idea. and for anyone who has to put some one else down just to get their point across well we have a number of survival tools that we can injure our selves with if we are not responsible with them, for example you can kill your self with a kukri or machete, if your not practicing safety first, does that mean I'm not going to carry one, no it means that I will be responsible with it, I am a grown man and there has been times that I have been less then responsible or by doing something stupid in a situation resulting in an injury, so there's a learning curve that we all go through in life, thus becoming more responsible from trial and error. I totally agree that no one has to be sarcastic in their replies, if they don't want to carry what one puts out there as an idea then they dont have to and they don't have to try and make it sound like the person who simply put out an idea is an idiot either, we are all here to learn from one another , we dont need to act like children, I tell you right now a small bottle rocket is not going to spontaneously ignite in you pack and and blow your spine out, haha my friends and I when we were young used to load them into a pipe and shoot them at each other like an RPG ah yeah fun times. but for the most part I want to be able to post threads with out the fear of being ridiculed, if some thing is said that some one else may think is dangerous well then just respectfully say that the idea seems dangerous and may need further discussion. we dont have to show off for any one, I know that I am not here to bicker or battle any one I just want to learn as much as I can and maybe share some of my own idea's, and to be said there are a number of people on here that have my up most respect because they are always informative and never knock any one else.

just finished a long reply and somehow lost it before saving. I'm not gonna write it again. summary: i like the bottle rocket idea, might pick up a few. thinking I'm more likely to suffer from a knife injury for example, then a spontaneous combustion of my backpack due to a couple bottle rockets. regarding keeping dry, no big deal, I keep my clothes and tinder dry with no problem.

Glad to provide you both with a unique idea for possible signalling in a survival situation.

a stink bomb might just be effective to some degree because as I know it there are some stink bombs that actually have skunk extract, I can tell you though from experience it detours lunch room lady,s ,children eating their lunch, and makes the principle mighty angry, hahaha I almost got away with it to.

You could make yourself a short PVC tube with a screw top and store them inside that till needed.
