Just for the information, I've been a dog handler for some time and have used and have dozens of whistles. It's kind of like a knife having one is way better than not. Metal whistles like coaches use sux in the cold. That being said, the pee-less are better the don't freeze. But I can't say I have ever seen another dog guy that used a pee-less. Just be sure and have one handy. I've zip tied them to all my life vests, all my backpacks, key chains ect. Having one around you neck when you need it is the best place for me! They are kinda like firesteels having one handy is everything. I just ordered some more firesteels I found that there are many places they need to be instead of looking for one.

I have and have given fox 40 micro whistles to all my family. And with a few words told them that 3 short blast is the call for help and to stay put if they got lost on our hikes. Thanks God that they did not have to use it. But it is a lot easier to hear a whistle sound then a 10 year old yell. |
