I'm downloading a compilation of 517 military field manuals right now. I'll go through them and put up some useful ones (CQB, shelters, medical care, improvised weaponry, communications, etc.). If I'm one of those "special" people. Of course... it may take up to 15 days for it to finish downloading, it's been bouncing around between 11 hours and 15 days.

Make sure if you are considering posting anything somewhere, Areth, that the documents you are talking about are actually in the public domain. (for example, the Army Survival Guide IS because it was paid for with tax dollars, but the SAS Survival Manual ISN'T because it was written by Lofty Wiseman for profit).

Well... they're US Army manuals. So, I think they're probably reliable. Also, if the guy wrote the SAS Survival Manual, even for profit, he probably knows what he's talking about or the SAS wouldn't be using it... or let if be named for them, if that's the case. Oh, and at this rate I'd give it a month or less, now.

Lofty was Ex-SAS. His book simply details some of their survival techniques. It didn't require their cooperation or consent, as far as I know, however since nothing in those books was operationally compromising, I doubt they cared one way or the other. Any of our official military manuals are fair game. They (along with anything else written BY the government, like the free handouts and public documents from FEMA or the EPA or FDA or even CIA) are paid for by our tax dollars, and can be used, reprinted and disseminated at will. Anything that is AUTHORED by someone is likely to be copyrighted, and therefore off-limits.
