Honest folks, I DON'T pay him to say things like that. It's a nice sentiment, but I am just a small cog in the big wheel that is Ron's world here. 1000 people and growing is a great thing, especially when you look at Ron's start date as a "member" on the forum, which is likely it's genesis. It was only 10-31-08! So, when you look at the past 10 months, 1000 people is an astonishing number of new members. I can't wait to see what the NEXT year holds in store for this site.

I didn't realize till now just how young this community is. 1,000 members in less than a year, thats great. It is nice to be part of a community of people where we can share such ideas and help one another. When I first found this site I wasn't even looking for survival info, up until this one i had found none that really impressed me. I was just looking for some info on a particular knife and instead found a home.

Thank you everyone for your kind words. The entire Survival Topics community shares in the success of this site - you the members are the most important part of all.

I've never seen a group this size get along so well. It is a credit to everybody here that we continue to grow.

And consider this: for every member that signs up there are several more "lurkers". The information you share here is viewed by many thousands of people throughout the world.

We look forward to the next 1000 members!

Of the oldest members who continue to post, these are the user names and join dates:

raymondsimmons 11-25-2008
Big K 11-27-2008
tjwilhelm 11-28-2008
DanT 11-28-2008

As I recall, the forum was created in Late October of 2008 but wasn't open it to the public until several weeks afterward.

I looked up those members and all are still active. TJ being the most prolific. Glad we can access the member list without logging out now. Funny many dont even have 1 post. Hard to call them members but I suppose they still are.
