They should hire me. People would tune in by the tens of thousands to see my arrogant fat butt whining like a little girl at the first sign of distress or danger. People would cheer when the wild animals began gnawing on my bones.

must be 12 years ago me and a mate applied for a program on uk tv which looked interesting, two tribes on opposing islands and the brief made it out to be a survival based format.

unfortunately it turned out to be one of those pretty young things struggling with the lack of power points and ipods rather than something substantial. castaway and survivor have the same issues. not to mention big brother who go for folks mental to start with.

dont they realise that the attraction in these programs is watching normal folks slowly losing it.

oh and we were rejected for being over 25

Why don't they do a show about being prepared and going out with real gear for weeks instead of a week. This is my problem with the survivor man crap. I don't care about the people who get lost on a day hike and didn't go prepared enough. How about a show where someone takes a BOB out and stays in the wild for a month or even a year. I would be thrilled to do a year long survival hike/camp. Moving from spot to spot every few weeks or what ever. Maybe through a huge national forest or something.

Me and my wife joked that we could do a survival show together. I would
of course carry all the gear, tent, sleeping bag and so on and film her
doing her stuff in survival situations.

Of course the antics would be huge, I doubt I can keep her out of my
tent and sleeping bag, need to bring a cattle prod as well with my
other plush camping gear, no fluffing off allowed.

Seriously, I would like to do a trip to Tree line and check it out and
try to build a survival shelter up there. Maybe in winter, could film
it for Youtube? I don't have a camera live near North Cascades.
