Oh yeah, probably. But seriously, I can guarantee I'd still give better survival advice than Bear Grylls, "Okay, umm... that big thing over there, you see that? I'm not totally sure, I forgot my contacts, but I think it's either a bear or a buffalo... So... I'm just going to stay away either way, because I'd rather not p--- off a bear or a buffalo, they'd both probably kill me..."

That's what it'd be like right there... a whole 1/2 hour to 1 hour show.

Looking for someone just like Bear Grylls, Requirements are.. Great on-camera personality, MUST have Survival experience (i.e., formal survival training or first-hand experience surviving in extreme environments - must have REAL survival/wilderness background of at least 5 yrs); must have the ability/confidence to survive in the wilderness for a week.

Okey dokey, here I am. I'm 66 years old, so I have to have a great personality or someone would have pounded me into the ground like a tent stake long ago. I have survival experience because I raised five kids to adulthood on a shoestring budget--there's yer extreme environment. The oldest kid is in his 40's and our youngest turns 21 next January, which means I struggled with survival issues for more than 40 years and have the scars to prove it. Do I have the ability and confidence to survive in the wilderness for a week? Hey, a week in the wilderness would be a vacation for a mama of five adults. I've endured house flooding from overflowing toilets and plugged-up washing machines, made one package of hotdogs and a pound bag of rice feed ten people, went without sleep for three years straight (she was a tough baby, that one), fought a neighborhood dog with my bare hands over a garbage can with a loose lid, nursed kids with flu and chicken pox and measles and Montezuma's revenge (not all at once, thank God), all the while keeping a house clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to be happy. And I kept the laundry and dishes washed most of the time, too.

And all you want is someone who can construct a lean-to shelter and catch and cook a fish over a campfire? Piece of cake, buddy. You don't want some muscle-bound wonder boy with big pecs and a trained dog. You want me.

LOL!!! Awesome!

The reason there won't ever be a true survival show is that no TV audience wants to watch hours of foraging, fire making and batoning of wood.

If they didn't throw in the drama and stupid games no one would watch that Survivor crap. "Next on Survivor Tribe A peels a coconut with a rock and a seashell!!!! It will take the full hour to do it."

I can see it now!

Tonight on real survivors we’ll talk to Joey and see how he’s making out with his giardia; we’ll try to figure out why Jamie died, and we’ll have another crack at resetting Bob’s compound fracture and see what we can do with that nasty little infection. With snow and frigid temperatures in the forecast be sure to tune in next week for the new head count!
