Default thnak you.

Thanks for that link. I'm thinking the wood pallets are treated for waterproofing and may contain arsenic. I'd stick to actual trees I think. Maple yummy good. apple, cherry, lots of options around here.

The term "active" simply means it has been infused with a positive charge

In a pinch, it is usually best and safer to simply make your own

HERE is a link to a site that both sells activated charcoal at a decent price AND shows step by step how to make natural charcoal suitable for practically any application.

Thanks for the thumbs up, y'all

I did alot of hardwood and fruitwood cooking and smoking when I was an active Chef so charred wood is something I know a bit about. And I learned about charcoal as a remedy when I went to Medical school before Culinary. (Long story but I ended up getting very sick with my first bout of cancer so had to drop out end of my 4th yr.)

I am what might be considered a professional student as I adore learning about many things which is why a site like this is a dream to me.

For internal or filtration use, my grandpa used to say "if you couldn't eat it before it was charcoal, don't do it after" better safe then sorry.
