Better yet a fire bed, also I am wondering about a longer handle if
I can find one, make it more like a axe.

I think if one could get a good two handed swing with it that
it will function almost as well as a real axe.

Default buck cheaper?....

CTD has the cold steel shovel for 17.77 36565 - Special Forces Shovel, Hardwood Handle

I was planning on getting an Estwing hatchet. Best value for a strong heavy full forged hatchet for $35 at Home Depot. I'm convinced this shovel will suit my needs much better. That video demonstration was the clincher for me.

I appreciate the post/review.

The Glock shovel is much lighter, has a longer handle, & can be sharpened. Forget the saw in the handle, it sucks, but for an e-tool, it's pretty impressive.

i have one (and a gerber folder) it does all that you stated and after i polished the black coating off it it also made an excellent frying pan, 2 eggs and 2 rashers fit just right
