Great post! I was wanting to have a go at net making and using natural cordage is very impressive!

it is not hard to make got it from a book we have Indian fishing early methods on the northwest coast by Hilary Stewart
It is a great book and has a lot more then net making
trap of all kinds Weirs tidal fence traps stone trap basket traps river traps reef nets dip nets deep water nets drag nets gill nets beach seine nets
gaff hooks harpoons spears
lures floats halibut hooks throat gorges trolling hooks
cordage fishing line made from braided sinew cedar bark nettle and kelp
and wood floats stone sinkers
cooking and preserving fish

she has more books we have cedar to love that one to
I will try to get more but need to get more bark and that will have to be in the spring when I can pull the bark did not get that much this year

which knots do you like? I never got the hand of the net needle but have used reef knots and overhand knots in the past for short simple nets

hours not that long to make the net but the cordage can take a long time did not work on it that much
