I have trepedations about putting up too much personal information on what is a publicly viewed forum. However, I have a military background with the Army as a countersniper with battlefield experience, considerable military and civilian training and experience in survival situations (desert, arctic, jungle, temperate forest, sub-tropical swamp, and seaborne), EMT/Medic training and experience, a long history of hunting, fishing, camping and hiking in the Northern Wilderness of Michigan's Upper Peninsula, skydiving and rappelling, blacksmithing, whitesmithing, pottery, glassblowing and shaping, gardening, animal husbandry-dressing-butchering, basic handyman skills, woodworking, brewing and winemaking, cooking and baking, clothcraft, just starting to get acceptable results out of doing my own auto mechanics, plus a read library spanning over 19,000 books. Have I mentioned the fact that I have been studying survivalism since childhood, have a number of awards in archery, fencing, and marksmanship, and have used guns, bows, swords and combat blades since I was around 7 or 8. As I have stated before, while I have had the benefit of a variety of martial arts training, it is by no means my strongest suit. However, I have had to use what I DO know in the past and it hasn't failed me yet. Hopefully that is a satisfactory amount of information without getting too much more descriptive.

For what it's worth, I ALWAYS prefer to do the job nobody else wants to do, either due to it being grueling, disgusting or dangerous. I am silent for the most part, and I never complain, and I have a rugged disposition, but still working on my ability to identify plants (edible/medicinal), still learning tracking and animal signs and basic hunting procedures like skinning, dressing and all that comes with handling meat in the bush. Last but not least, I will also be more than willing to take a bullet for someone who I thought was worthy enough to die for. A friend. ... Not to mention I was probably more than likely a feudal covert Japanese guerrilla warrior in a past life, considering my innate sense of severely thinking outside the paradigm box. How's that for a resume? PS I was stationed at Ft. Bragg, and I jumped only three times with the Infantry. You guys are INSANE!!!! I was scared crapless with you guys pulling on the static line, and hootin' and hollerin' like a bunch of baboons in fatigues!!! Last edited by LaRemnant; 10-26-2009 at 23:38. |
