Well it would be close for sure...
I would be banking on the fact that when you have the flu, you lose your appetite.

And if push came to shove, I'd eat my dog (not kidding). She's a big tasty German Shepard. But before that I'd dig into her 40lb bag of dog food.

We could make it ok but would be alot healthier if I can access my wee postage stamp garden. Also BOB's are just inside back door so additional supplies there.
The guys guarding the door could probably be useful....I'd work on bringing them around to my way of thinking to get more supplies if I wanted....and if they dont come around, they are dispensable (my family comes first but it would be a last resort).

I do have 2 dogs. One around 80 and the other around 38 lbs. I would not dare eat them. I would not do that to my dogs. Plus they are both natural hunters, i bet I could let them loose and they would come back with something.

The entire population of the County I live in is less than 14,000. I live on the edge of an isolated, unincorporated village of about 102 souls. The nearest town is 6 miles away, and there are only 300 folks living there. I highly doubt they'll bother with me or my neighbors. If they do, to be more efficient, they'll probably just put one guard at a road block on the edge of the village. This would give me access to my 5, wild acres, my shop and "pantry," and we could easily get by for 6 weeks.

It's the urban dwellers that are going to have to deal with these kinds of enforcements. I subscribe to the "Stairman Philosophy" -- Get out of town!

I could easily do it. I also don't think they will be guarding me very closely, as I live in a very rural, remote area, so I'd have access to a pond and about a zillion acres of state forest for hunting.

Good. I've made you all stop and think about your supplies. That was the real purpose of this thread.

yep I reckon I could but she'd complain. I think the main issue with being cooped up is boredom which makes you over eat so portion control and reducing the overall calorific value would be healthier and make what you have last longer. also slowing your metabolism down so you get more out of what you do eat.

a simple meal of pasta and pesto/butter/salad dressing is all you really need to keep going energy wise
