I would rather have a sticker that says something like Protected by Glock with a pic of one right on it. There are some pretty good quality ones on ebay that are pretty intimidating. I had one that said Protected by Glock, you steal it, you die with it. It had a nice big pic and a warning label on it.

Ha ha I wish they had somethin like that. Well it's been two months since I've bought my safe and I've had no problems. Bolted it down and keep my guns, ammo, cash, and personal docs in there and I'm a lot more relaxed about my effects. As for my window that's shared with the balcony I moved my dresser up against it and put several curtains and things over it so no one can see inside. Even if they did break in they're prolly not expecting a huge dresser in front of them and will knock it over (making a loud noise) while tryin' to get in. Most of the people I was worried about are gone but I still keep my guard up.

Thanks for all your help. Much obliged.

Just so you all know, this thread helped us configure our downtown condo and put into place safety procedures. Still have more to do. Mostly I am concerned when we r home as some jerks have been breaking into the other buildings in our complex during the day(70 units in about 10 buildings, ours only has 6 total, 2 per floor). When they break in the other buildings, those have elevators which prevent them from going to any condos (they have a "fob system" that the thieves don't have. Our building is a walkup so once they came in, they were in our halls. Altho they were after bikes in the garage, it is only a matter of time and desparation till they go after units.

We have a long deadbolt and a really strong metal door. Having a dog also helps me lots as he really does alert, looks scarier than he is, and will jump on command (altho he might just lick them to death!LOL) He is my early warning that someone one, even my great neighbors, are in the hall.
However, we have glass floor to ceiling window all along one wall with balconies attached to the fire escape stairs and a regular glass door (not sliding there. If TSHTF, we will drop shades, push furniture (per what highwayrider said) against it (plenty right there) and do what the other guy said about taking off our cabinet doors and nailing them up.
Any other ideas for a condo where it still has to look nice on the outside (rules rules rules!) but we want safety on inside? We are activating an alarm system after Christmas also.
Thanks for any suggestions. SG

Solid metal door and long dead bolt are good. Your weak point now may be the hinges. If you haven't already, replace the screws that hold the hinges to the frame with 3-1/2" to 4" long screws. this will secure it to the cripples along side the door and make it much more difficult to compromise by kicking it in.
