Default One gun in a EOTWAWKI scenario

So basically I'm interested in what you guys think is the single most important gun to you in a end of the world scenario in an urban enviornment. The firearm should be able to be used for personal defence and hunting. As long as it meets thoes two criteria, feel free to make your suggestion. I'm looking forward to what everyone has to say.

12 g. 18-20" pump or semi auto. Shells for anything you need. No question. Folding or removable stock.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. So I'm assuming the 12 g. shotgun would pretty much have me covered on all bases. Birdshot, buckshot, and slugs are all nice to have and be able to choose between depending on your situation.

Do you guys suggest any shottys in particular for the survivalist on a budget?

12 Ga. Pump/Semi.

To me there would be no other one gun for both purposes that asked.

Now, there are many types of 12 Ga's, that's a different story

Ill be different. Sure a 12 guage fits the bill if you have the different loads big and small, but for a all around gun Id pick my 22. Ammo is cheap and less bulky and I would hope you would be shooting more small game than people, but the question was asked for an urban setting so its a tough call. The best survival gun is an old thread put up by Ron a while back which is very similar but he doesnt specify urban. I wouldnt remain in an urban setting long at all so my choice is the same, Ruger 10/22.
