Default What I did today

I went to the 912 Project meeting tonight. This is the second meeting I've gone to...Both meeting were on the "Possibility of a Meltdown". I have never made a meeting before because it coincides with my Bible Study on Wednesdays, these meetings are on Tuesdays so I can go now.
This is a very interesting meeting.
I passed out the firesteels I bought and wish I had gotten about 5 more but anyway, no one knew what they were or anything similar. They are beginning to wake up to what's going on and are discussing a BOL and BOBs. I could only nod my head and give my input here and there. There was one guy that didn't want to hear what a "woman" had to say so I just kept my mouth shut until I knew I had something important to say. I directed them all to the site and to a couple of other sites that will help them. I hope they come and visit.
It's so good to be able to talk about all this with others that are of like mind. I always have to be so careful who I say anything to even my family so this is really great for me.
Thanks to you guys I feel that I have some input to give. My biggest problem with all this is that I have no money to contribute to any kind of BOL they are thinking of purchasing. I only have "some" skills and of course my preps.
Well, something will work out. I don't think my family is going to make it and I want to. I'm torn between being with my family and helping them through this but I am limited by $ as far as preps are concerned. I don't think they are really seriously prepping anything. so this is going to be tough for me I think. There are a couple of guys that are involved in the Market and in Real Estate and they mentioned that the dollar is down to 75 right now and the closer it gets to 70 (?) that's when it's all gonna go down. They also said that it would take around 36 months for that to happen, but that was also a generous number. Now I know nothing about that and I don't know what he meant by the numbers but I do know what 36 months means.
That's a little scarey and so I'm going to get even more serious about learning my craft and prepping more as I am able. Once I'm working , hopefully soon, I'll be able to do more.
Whew. long post. sorry.Lots on my mind right now.

you know, I dont know what 912 is. but you sound very concerned in your post and I'd just say nothing is worth torturing yourself mentally over (all the worry and paranoia). Please just take your preparations seriously like you are doing, but don't let it run your life. you gotta live a life with some peace of mind. if something so bad happens that we can not get thru it (we've got a better chance than most people) then what the worst that can happen - death? every dies eventually. just be at peace with your maker and whats there to be afraid of?

I guess my biggest concern is over my family not being ready for something. I do live with peace most of the time it just gets a bit sometimes and yes, you're right I just need to slow down. I'm not afraid to die I know I'd go to a better place anyway. I guess I'm more afraid for them.
Thanks Kevin.

I also agree that we can only do what our situation allows; if your family will not participate, pray, prepare what you can and trust God to keep us all safe. I wanted to comment on your 36 month scenario. Not to sound "Mayan" but that does put us at 2012, the same time frame Gerald Celente and others have noted was about right for a complete financial meltdown. The other point I have that may be related (I don't know enough about the dollar interplay with gold) is that we have been married 29 years and 1980 was the last time gold was anywhere near as high for AS LONG as it has been now. My husband told me today it went over $1100! I can't ever recall it that high. From my long ago economics class in 1979-1980, when gold was this high, the dollar plummetted (sp?) and the economy crashed after that in 1981-83. So your friends may be quite correct. Keep praying hard for us all. SG

I just recently joined my local 912 group but haven't attended a meeting yet. I'm just real wary of meeting people I don't know. I don't know much about the 912 group yet but if I get some more details I'll share here.

What there is to be afraid of is what kind of a future our kids will have. I want mine to be able to enjoy the freedoms I've have known, before they were stomped on by the feds.

Worry does nothing to solve the problem and robs you of the strength you have. It just wears you out. You can't make them wake up or think beyond their comfort zone. All you can do is encourage them to think and be preparred. It is thier choice to do it or not. You can't be responsible for everyone.

I know you're all very right on about this. I just don't want to make the decision, do I die with them or do I live with people I've just met? Does my loyality to my family go that far. I think it does. I will have to take my chances that they will wake up and see what needs to be done.
I'm going to some of the local restrarants (sp) and see about getting some buckets to store some of my stuff in them.

Omega, I was leary of meeting these people too but they're just like me that they want what I want. They're just not as far along as we are with this.
some of them anyway aren't.

Loyalty is a great thing. But what would a pointless death serve? Especially one where people were repeatedly encouraged to do something to prevent that situation in the first place.
