These FireSteels are hand forged by a North Woods master blacksmith in the Green Mountains of Vermont.

This jasper is the same used by Paleo Indians some eight to ten thousand years ago for making arrowheads, spear points, and other sharp tools.

The stone is exceedingly hard and breaks into sharp angular pieces that are perfect for making sparks when struck by the Mountain Man FireSteel.
