How Many Survival Knives and Axes do You Have?
More Articles Related to Blades And Knives If you’re like many practitioners of outdoor survival skills you enjoy acquiring knives, axes, machetes, and other blades. Bushcraft UK has an ongoing poll “How Many Survival Knives or Axes Do You Have?”Interestingly, of about 300 responses so far, nearly 80% claim to have at least 6 blades and over 15% are in the 41 to 100 survival blades range!
Now why someone would need or want 100 knives I cannot say, unless they desire to be on the cutting edge of survival blades collecting.
Also of interest are the photos of their survival knives lovingly arranged as though esteemed family members. Survivors take their blades serously!

I have collected knives since I was 10 years old. I have never owned or purchased a knife that I couldn't use hard. I cant afford decorative knives to sit on a shelf. I, like some of you have nearly 100 knives, of all types. Some clip point, some spear point, some drop point (my personal favorite design), some long, some short knives, some skinners, etc,. I have Beckers, Gerbers, Mineral Mountain, MLKnives, J.Neilson knives, a buck knife or two, Cold Steel Knives, CRKT knives, Rat knives, Bark River Knives, and a lot of TOPS knives. I like them all, and I have a use for everyone. I carry three knives with me at least every time I go into the field/bush, two firesteels, 8 different ways to make fire, at least a gallon of water, and usually an axe. I have never gone wanting once. My load is occasionally weighty, but never burdensome as I know what it means to me to be ready every time. Its like the Army. Clean and check your weapons at every opportunity and you'll never go wrong!! The Boy Scouts weren't wrong - Be Prepared!

What are you going to do, carry them all into the wilderness? I have only one, a Buck 110. had it for about 15 years. Taken it to the Everglades and even fell in the water once and stayed bubmerged overnight, since I didn't want to go into the swamp at night and grab a gator instead of my knife. Cleaned it up afterwards and like nothing happened. Great knife, by the way!
