More Articles Related to FoodOne excellent piece of survival advice we all know is to always keep your vehicle tanked up with the proper fuel. You never know when a survival emergency will occur and you need to depend upon your vehicle. You do not want to jump into your vehicle during an emergency and find a nearly empty tank.
Maintaining as nearly a full tank of fuel as possible will ensure you a good start and the ability to go as far as possible before needing to refill. In times of shortages this could be critical. And not any kind of fuel will do. The correct fuel allows your vehicle to function at 100%. Impurities in your fuel can be as bad, or even worse than having no fuel at all.
What does this have to do with eating proper food? Plenty. Because in exactly the same way the survivor keeps his vehicle tanked up with good fuel, he keeps his body tanked up with proper food and nutrition. Should an emergency situation occur, the survivors body has the nutritional and energy reserves that enable him to respond hard and long even when food becomes difficult to find.
There is a saying in the computer programming world: garbage in, garbage out. This applies also to the food the survivor eats. Ingest piles of junk food, gallons of beer, tobacco smoke and other drugs, and the results you get when you need to act in an emergency will be sub par – even deadly. Conversely, eat right, avoid polluting your body with drugs, and what you get back will be your best effort in whatever situations arise.
Think of it this way. Maybe you are lost in the wilderness. Or an emergency happens, perhaps a flood or storm. The normal distribution of every day supplies that we take for granted breaks down. You are without fresh stocks of everything and will have to make do with what you have on hand for the next several days or even weeks. Now ask yourself: would you want to face this situation on an empty stomach, having eaten foods of poor nutritional value for months on end? Or would you be more able to successfully survive when all along you have been eating excellent nutritional meals so that your body is well stocked with the nutrients and energy it needs?
The answer is obvious. The true survivor is prepared and one of the best preparations he can make is to take care of his physical body by eating correctly each and every day. This means plenty of grains, fruits, vegetables, and high amounts of protein. Keep yourself hydrated at all times. Avoid drugs including tobacco and alcohol. You never know when the need will suddenly arise where you will be glad you are nutritionally tanked up and ready to go.
